ZHONGPING SHI

As a realist painter, Zhongping Shi draws his ideas from nature, people, and objects of every day surroundings. Inspired by life and his own personal experiences; he transforms these visions and images into paintings of vivid, sensual colors, weaving together poetry and nostalgia into all of his landscapes, figures, and still life. Prior to immigrating to the United States in 1990, Zhongping Shi was a renowned artist and professor of Fine Art at Shanghai University. He’s had numerous solo and group exhibitions.

 

In 1983, he won the award for Distinguished Artwork at the National Art Exhibition in Beijing, China. In 1988, he participated as a visiting professor in a Shanghai University and City University of New York Scholar Exchange program, where he was guest professor at Lehman College and Columbia University. Over the last decade, several of his paintings have been privately owned and collected.
