Born in 1950, art has always played an important role in Harry’s life. As a young boy Harry was encouraged by artistic parents, and his family made frequent visits to the acclaimed Nelson/Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City. Inspired by the great masters, he began a life long study and devotion to Art. Harry earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (BFA), from Missouri State University, in 1974. He received a classical art education, working with various media and techniques. The study of Art History was also important. After 4 years of college, Harry traveled throughout Europe for a year, visiting museums, studios, and workshops of local artist. Returning home to Kansas City, he attended the prestigious Kansas City Art Institute and continued his study of painting. Married, he and wife Jane raised three children. During this time Harry had a successful career in advertising. Then after 30 years he gave up the corporate world to pursue his passion — painting. He now paints nearly every day.
