IRIS ROUSSEAU

Rosseau's work represents masterful sculptures, expressive portraits and delicate ornate figurines. Her sculptures are handmade in bronze, granite, or clay. With her distinctive style, Iris Rosseau has created a name for herself in Germany and beyond during the last few years as an artist of the modern impressionist school. Unperturbed by the latest trends of the contemporary scene, Iris Rosseau intuitively models her sculptures based on the classic principles of aesthetics, beauty, and harmony. The artist, born in Munich in 1942 spent over 20 years traveling the world and studying past civilizations, esoteric symbolism and archaic forms of expression at their places of origin.

The result of these experiences as well as her ties of friendships, the exchange of artistic ideas and the collaboration with contemporary colleagues have enriched her sensibility and approach to her work.
