DARRELL BUSH

With a range from landscapes to seascapes, wildlife to still-life, painter Darrell Bush captures the essence of nature and nostalgia with his canvas and brush. The constant that echoes through all of his art is the luminescent presence of light. Light, whether man-made or natural, creates a mood and helps convey the story of the painting. While earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University, Darrell was juried into the prestigious New York Society of Illustrators student competition. He then put his education to work in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he worked as an Illustrator. Darrell Bush has been named one of America’s most popular artists by four different national art publications, and has won two national stamp competitions for the states of Minnesota and Idaho. He has worked with both National Geographic and the Smithsonian Institution, and his art has been featured in numerous publications. Two of his lithographs hang in the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and his work was also part of a special reception at the prestigious Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Actor Burt Reynolds and celebrity animal expert Jack Hanna also own his work. In 1997, Darrell was named “Artist of the Year” at the Wildlife, Western, and Americana Art Show in Minneapolis, MN.
