Jeff Sabol
From an early age, Jeff C. Sabol was fascinated by the every-changing reflections on the water of the boats at anchor in the harbor where he grew up. This fascination translated into his unique interpretation of line and shadow, which appear almost abstract in his startlingly realistic work. His paintings are an exercise in tranquility and gentle motion, as the study the lightness of line.
Jeff studied architectural design and drafting before traveling extensively and studying life at sea. His experience on the sea is reflected in a pervasive mood in his work. In addition to being an accomplished marine artist, Jeff is also known for his murals and Trompe l'oeil effects. Together with W. Linzee Prescott, Jeff painted twelve murals on the exterior of the International Swimming Hall of Fame to commemorate the 1976 Bicentennial.
Jeff's work is found in private and public collections across the United States. He is frequently commissioned to paint yacht portraits, adding to his substantial resume of masterful marine works for which he was won numerous awards.
