Frauke Klatt was born in Luebeck,  Germany on July 7th 1957. She was  educated at the University of  Hamburg and is married with three  sons. Frauke has been a keen sailor for the past 25 years, her love for the  water and sailing and its ever-changing mood has been an inspiration for her  painting.
In 1992 she discovered a unique painting techique, which allows paint to  be used on sailcloth. The paint is permanent and dose not fade or rub off. To  test its durability, Franke painted on the back of a sailing jacket, which she  has worn when sailing her yacht for several years in all weather conditions. The  image is still as good as when it was first painted. Franke also paints in  acrylic to which she adds sand to enhance the wild and stormy mood of many of  her paintings. Working in this medium she has produced a series of triptychs of  racing yachts, which has gained her respect and notice in the art  world.
Frauke is acknowledged in  Germany and the  UK where her  paintings are in great demand. She has exhibited throughout both countries and  her paintings have earned her a place in corporate as well as private  collections. In 2000 she held her first show in the  UK, which was a  great success, a sell out exhibition in  Cowes. Further successful  exhibitions have been held in Cows,  London and through out  Europe.
