Michael Meyer
Michael Meyer's canvases are landscapes with use of vibrant color, movement, spontaneity, and a light use of layered pigments. Although he has been trained in various disciplines: architecture, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and drawing Michael feels his talents are strongest expressed through painting.
As an artist, Michael's focus is primarily on rural landscapes. In recent years the subject matter of his work has covered Napa Valley, the farmlands of Wisconsin and the Ohio Valley, the Edge of Appalachia Preserves (located in Southeastern Ohio) and the North Carolina Piedmont. His hope is to share with others the manner in which he see's the world. The Midwest has had a great influence on both his subject matter and the style of his work. Michael's education in both the fine arts and architecture has given him the opportunity to study this rural landscape with the critical eye of an architect.
