Mary Ann Davis
Mary Ann Davis earned her BFA from Herron School of Art in 1976, majoring in lithography, and studied painting under Antonious Raemaekers and Lois Griffel. Mary Ann Davis enjoys painting and drawing from life and regularly paints plein air. Mary Ann Davis works in an impressionist style with oil, on canvas or board. Using a pallet knife, Davis's compositions are filled with vibrant color, movement, and vitality.
Mary Ann was one of ten artists chosen to paint for; Painting Indiana, The Changing Face of Agriculture projects. This project will include an interactive traveling exhibit and book. She has worked as a designer in the graphic design field since 1978, and founded Davis Graphic Design, in 1991.
Ms Davis has been in numerous juried shows and has won regional and international awards for her work. Mary Ann works primarily "en plein-air" painting on location with oils and pastels. She captures the ever-changing color of nature using impressionistic elements. Mary Ann Davis states; "My goal as a plein-air artist is to share my view of the world through unique creations."
